About Dr. Richard McMinn Brighton Chiropractor

My Chiropractic story begins in 1957. At that time my Uncle, who later became my mentor, had become a Chiropractor, and our family were beginning to understand the value of the Chiropractic Lifestyle. I was eight years of age at that time and I clearly remember having my first Chiropractic adjustment. It was at that point my career path was chosen and from that time I never wavered from wanting to be a Chiropractor. I never understood much, I only knew the feeling of being “set free”and feeling “wow – and wanting to help others to feel that way” and it was that feeling that carried me right through school, university and Chiropractic College. The idea of a drugless healing art that could prevent sickness and disease appealed to my young mind.

At the time I decided to pursue my education to be a Chiropractor, mature students were not allowed back to school to study. I successfully petitioned the New Zealand Government to change this law and entered Glendowie College to complete my University Entrance Exams. In appreciation I donated “The McMinn Cup” which is still awarded to deserving students to this day. After graduating I was accepted into Cleveland College in Kansas City Missouri and soon after transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic Davenport Iowa USA – known as The Chiropractic Fountainhead.

Chiropractic Life is essentially a wellness based Chiropractic clinic which means that we are not only interested in getting people well, but we are also interested in educating and supporting people in their endeavours to maintain their health, vitality and wellness. My own five children were all born at home and have had chiropractic care since the day they were born. None of the children have ever been to a medical doctor and it is my vision to empower the people of Hove and Brighton to take control of their own health by choosing natural alternatives.
Children make excellent patients. They respond readily to care as they bring no prejudice or scepticism to their appointments. They bring only trust and in turn it is such a delight to see them reaching their fullest potential.
